Oppa Gangnam Racist Style?

South Korean pop star PSY closed the 2012 American Music Awards with his hit Gangnam Style. Regardless as to whether you like him or are sick of that damn song, here’s a collection of people who are NOT HAPPY that there’s an Asian dude on their AMERICAN Music Awards:

NEW BLOG….

Hey guys, I’m keeping my tumblr (though am not sure in what capacity or frequency this will be updated) but will be starting up some serious blogging over at http://yepiatethat.blogspot.com/ , so please click the link, follow me there, and return to keep updated! I will be updating my blogspot more regularly about tons of fun topics, focusing mainly on fitness, healthy food and living. It will be focused more on written content rather than photos (though that’s great too, tumblr!) THANKS! Virtual hugs to those who follow me on my new blog :)

KALE is my new superfood! And if you’re not already noshing on it regularly, you should be! Not only is it yummy, it has so many health benefits that trump other foods (although balance is key! Kale shouldn’t be the only thing on your menu). It scores extra points for being an ingredient in one of my favourite soups: Zuppa Toscana! Check it out:

  • For a green, kale is unusually high in fiber. This helps create the bulk you need to fill you up and to keep you full for a good amount of time.
  • In addition to beta-carotene, kale posses other important carotenoids: lutein and zeaxathin. These carotenoids help keep UV rays from damaging the eyes and causing cataracts.
  • According to recent research results, kale is an incredible source of well-absorbed calcium, which is one of the many factors that may help prevent osteoporosis. It also provides decent amounts of vitamin C, folic acid, vitamin B6, manganese, and potassium.
  • One cup of kale contains 36 calories, 5 grams of fiber, and 15% of the daily requirement of calcium and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), 40% of magnesium, 180% of vitamin A, 200% of vitamin C, and 1,020% of vitamin K. It is also a good source of minerals copper, potassium, iron, manganese, and phosphorus.
  • Beyond antioxidants, the fiber content of cruciferous kale binds bile acids and helps lower blood cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease, especially when kale is cooked instead of raw.
  • To find the freshest kale, look for firm, deeply colored leaves with hardy stems. Smaller leaves will be more tender and milder in flavor. Leaves range from dark green to purple to deep red in color.

Kale is AMAZING!

Presenting the coolest food truck we have ever seen. Former baseball scout Jon Darsky had to ditch the food truck-standard step-van in favor of a Caterpillar truck when designing Del Popolo — his 33,000 pound wood-burning brick pizza oven on wheels. Now, he can be found roaming the streets of San Francisco, serving pizza prepared the way it was meant to be! Want to grab a slice? Keep up with Darsky’s current whereabouts on Twitter or Facebook.

Whoa.

Thank you, Hulu, for the brilliant suggestion. They might as well have had a tagline that said — GET UP OFF YOUR BUTT AND GET ACTIVE. Point taken. Off to the gym!
